I just finished Angel's Peak, and I have been thinking about what a wonderful job Robyn Carr does throughout the Virgin River series of including all stages of love and different kinds of relationships. She includes everything from teen first love to George, the 70-year-old widower in AP, and I think she hits every decade in between. I don't remember ever seeing so complete a picture in any other series.Jangahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15128188159653860806noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8192776379752748640.post-23077102737624077242010-02-16T09:10:40.368-05:002010-02-16T09:10:40.368-05:00I definitely did my share – bought a card for the ...I definitely did my share – bought a card for the DH and 2 little valentines for my kids. The DH bought a dozen roses and that was our small contribution.

I celebrated by going out for breakfast and napping most of the day (long weekend!), but I did pick up the book I was reading at the time and polish off a few chapters.

The love song is a tough one. I am a music nut - my tastes are extremely varied (swing, big band, classic rock, easy listening, country, new age, etc, etc.). So, picking just one would be hard. Every so often the DH and I put on a cassette that he made for me a while ago with a lot of the songs chronicling our relationship and we dance – my 2 favorites are More by Bobby Darin and The Way You Look Tonight by Frank Sinatra. So I guess I’d go with one of those two

Favorite love scene is another tough one. I looked through the list of books I read and if I could remember the love scene I put it down for consideration. Remarkably, out of all the books I’ve read since jumping back into romances about 10 years ago (close to 600), only about 8 books stood out for me.

I’d have to say my favorite love scene would be between Brie and Mike in Whispering Rock by Robyn Carr. I absolutely loved how she handled the whole situation between Brie and Mike and when they finally came together, I too, really believed in their HEA.

The others were Bet Me by Jennifer Crusie, A Rogue in Texas by Lorraine Heath, The Seducer by Madeline Hunter, Then Came You and Dreaming of You by Lisa Kleypas, Shattered Rainbows by MaryJo Putney, and The Viscount Who Loved Me by Julia Quinn. I’m sure they all have a common theme – maybe that the heroine is so unsure of herself and the hero takes away all her doubt.

Fun blog, Janga.irisheyeshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11730974733998991144noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8192776379752748640.post-80844144507407376102010-02-16T00:11:26.236-05:002010-02-16T00:11:26.236-05:00Cheryl, I used the scene to which you refer in thi...Cheryl, I used the scene to which you refer in this month's Words of Love contest on the EJ/JQ board. I don't think there are many laudatory superlatives that DREAMING OF YOU doesn't qualify for. It's one of the best in the genre IMO.Jangahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15128188159653860806noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8192776379752748640.post-7838410102879700932010-02-12T14:30:43.054-05:002010-02-12T14:30:43.054-05:00One of my favorite love scenes is in DREAMING OF Y...One of my favorite love scenes is in DREAMING OF YOU by Lisa Kleypas. It is the scene with Derek standing outside his burned-down club. He thinks Sara died in the fire, and then he sees her. This scene has such powerful emotions in it. Derek admits his love for the first time, and he reminds Sara that she promised to never leave him. This strong and cynical man cries over his near loss of Sara.cheryl chttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09518179090170838046noreply@blogger.com
