Not very adventurous by nature I guess.

I did, however, get both the Lady Whistledown anthologies and anything with Lisa Kleypas on the cover. I snatched up Where'e My Hero for exactly the same reason you did and I think I re-read Derek and Sarah's little excerpts over and over :)

It Happened One Night was another one that was everything I hoped it would be and can't wait for their next try at the same theme.

Thanks to you I've accummulated quite a few Christmas anthologies over the years and gladly pull them out for a great re-read every holiday season.

Thanks for your list, you've posted a few I think I'd like to try.irisheyeshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11730974733998991144noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8192776379752748640.post-10341655297492050172009-10-16T18:49:45.163-04:002009-10-16T18:49:45.163-04:00Cheryl, I'm not big on Westerns. I'd like to see another one.

PJ, the one good thing about all the rainy days is that they are perfect reading weather. I read The Heart of Christmas anthology, but I'm trying to wait for November to start my real holiday reading. :)

Katie, I thought about the lack of contemporary anthologies when I made the list. I read fewer contemps than historicals, but I do have some contemporary keepers. The Rachel Gibson I mentioned is my favorite, but the other two stories in the anthology are historicals not among my favorites.Jangahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15128188159653860806noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8192776379752748640.post-44016960079149008612009-10-15T17:11:02.550-04:002009-10-15T17:11:02.550-04:00Oh, I also read your honorable mention IT HAPPENED...Oh, I also read your honorable mention IT HAPPENED ONE NIGHT. Harlequin Historicals also has had some western anthologies that I enjoyed. One of my recent reads was Stetsons, Spring, and Wedding Rings.

I have a bunch of Christmas anthologies, but we can save that discussion for closer to Christmas.

BTW, I sent you an email through the Vagabond site concerning my win of your giveaway. Unfortunately, too often an anthology will sit on my keeper shelf due to just one of the stories.

I understand why you cut out Christmas anthologies from your list -- there are so many of them. Of course, I have to list A Very Merry Christmas (Foster, Maynard, Bruce) because 1) it's my favorite contemporary Christmas anthology, and 2) I have no regular anthologies to recommend that meet the rest of your requirements. ;)

But I've only ever read contemporary anthologies, and given some of your recommendations, it sounds like there are some really great historical anthologies I'm missing out on. Will have to correct that, stat, so thanks for the recs!Katie Mackhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10094236956287511024noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8192776379752748640.post-87505943895882591392009-10-15T13:24:34.558-04:002009-10-15T13:24:34.558-04:00I love anthologies and you've listed some of m...I love anthologies and you've listed some of my favorites, Janga.
