They do both excel at creating wonderful worlds. I don't remember Balogh saying much about her writing process, but I have heard Beverley describe her process as "sailing into the mist." I wonder if she does flow charts before she sails. LOL She does have a wiki created after the books.Jangahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15128188159653860806noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8192776379752748640.post-64057876856345511962013-03-03T05:21:03.540-05:002013-03-03T05:21:03.540-05:00I've given Carlyle a lot of five-star ratings ...I've given Carlyle a lot of five-star ratings too, Q. I think you will really enjoy ABBM.

I agree about the Mantel tempest too. It sounds as if reporters overeager for controversy took a few sentences out of context. When you walk through the doors the first thing that hits you is that every wall is full of poster boards with flow charts and family trees and arrows going every which way. 'A Deal with the Devil' and 'One Little Sin' both had me enthralled and I gave them each 5-stars. Bride by Moonlight sounds the perfect book to renew my interest!

I definitely like books with powerful plots. From my reading so far I would put Mary Jo Putney Elizabeth Lowell and Jennifer Blake on your list.

Moving more to Historicals I'm currently reading Hillary Mantel's latest Booker prize winning novel 'Bring up the bodies' about Thomas Cromwell and the court of Henry VIII. Enjoying it a lot.

Pity about the controversy over her recent comments about royalty .... misinterpreted by the media of course!

Great review as always Janga! *smile*Quantumhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08686409685564115213noreply@blogger.com
